Chinese Taipei is a leading agricultural nation, with production technology setting global standards. However, ineffective marketing and a lack of a robust supply chain management has rendered Chinese Taipei unable to capitalize on global demand for agricultural products, resulting in an excess supply domestically.
To address these issues, the Council of Agriculture (COA) launched Taiwan Agricultural Global Marketing Co., Ltd (TIAD) on Dec. 5, 2016. The organization will establish a domestic and international sales and distribution channel, and broaden the consumer base by entering overseas and emerging markets. The resulting increase in exports will allow farmers’ income to rise, help reduce oversupply, and further elevate Chinese Taipei’s agricultural industry. TIAD has already attracted $152M NT in its first stage of funding, from major agriculture exporting companies and authorities.
