Food Loss and Waste Reduction Toward a Food-Secured Future in APEC: Summary of MYP 2016 and Policy Recommendations


  In this presentation, Dr. Ching-Cheng Chang show as the result and outcome of the projects. He analyzes MYP outcome of 2013 to 2015, explains the work plan and purposes for dissecting APEC Multi-Year Project. APEC Multi-Year Project has achieve part of goal, in food loss and waste assessment aspect, such as unified methodologies, Mass Flow Model (MFM), refinement for fishery and livestock, Model for Food Grain & F&V, Model for Fish & Livestock.
  Dr. Ching-Cheng Chang introduces the Method based on FAO and remodels it. He shows this new method to calculate per capita food waste in kcal, include Japan, USA, and Chinese Taipei's data. Last but not least, he made recommendation and summary the 2017 program. We need to focus on food loss and waste at retail and consumer problems by raising awareness on the "Causes" and raising awareness on the "Benefits" and "Fact".
