Due to steep increase of chemical fertilizers and pesticides use in 20th century, human population also experienced a booming growth. However, these chemicals also undermined soils and other agricultural resources. In order to solve these problems,Dr. Gwo-chen Li suggests that 21th century will be a biotechnology era. He takes Chinese Taipei’s bio-material industry as an example, showing how to develop agriculture being free from chemical substances.
