IFAD, Philippines: Convergence on Value-Chain Enhancement for Rural Growth and Empowerment Project

  • The overall goal of the project is to contribute to reducing the incidence of poverty in the ten target provinces of Regions IX, X and Caraga, while the project’s development objective is that the target group vulnerability is reduced through crop diversification and increased farm income.
  • The project has three components: (1) Participatory Value-Chain Analysis and Planning, (2) Integrated Smallholders Agricultural and Rural Enterprise Development, (3) Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Knowledge Management.
  • The project contributes to achieving the goal of the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016 of a competitive and sustainable agriculture and fisheries sector through improved food security and increased rural incomes, and supports the National Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Programme.
